How to use the where statement on Qlikview

We can use where statement on Qlikview to limit the data being loaded, depending on several conditions. The ‘where’ clause is generally used on the data loading script. Here is exactly how to use it.

 

We shall use, for the purpose of this exercice, a scenario where we only need to pull data from the tables where the ‘Region’ is only ‘Central’ on our dashboard elements.

The figure below shows an example of a pivot table that includes multiple regions

To edit the data loading script, please go to ‘File’ and edit your loading script by adding your where statement on the appropriate field, as seen below.

The figure below shows the result of a filtered down pivot table, only showing data for the ‘Central’ region.
